The Bridge of San Luis Rey

This Costume was embroidered for the “Virrey de Perú” played by F. Murray Abraham. This embroidery is the largest and most elaborate I have undertaken so far. The repeat is lifted from a 17th-century painting and adapted for the pattern of the coat.

The motif is embroidered in three shades of gold with a black metal thread on top creating a shading of variated density. The black thread helps to break down the evenness of the gold and adds an interesting effect.
